About the challenge and what you can learn
Find a market with a need, grow your list, build a relationship with your readers, and then make them offers for things they need. That right there is one of the big secrets to online success and it’s what we’re going to focus on over in the 30 Days Email Marketing Challenge. If you’re up for a challenge, I invite you to come along and commit to working on your own email marketing.
If you’ve been a little negligent with your list building, haven’t emailed your readers in a while, or are starting from scratch with a small list, don’t despair. We’ll work on reviving the list, building and nurturing the relationship with your readers, and along the way coming up with a plan to keep things going.
A big part of email marketing is consistency. You have to stay on your readers’ mind and they have to learn to trust you. Once you become a reliable source of information, it makes it that much easier to then convince your readers to become customers. The goal then is to get subscribers on your list, introduce yourself to them, and provide them with the information and tools they need, sprinkling offers in along the way. That’s how you’ll quickly and easily turn writing emails into a fulltime business. And you’ll do it without sounding like a used cars salesman.
What is Email Marketing?
Email marketing isn’t about spamming your audience. It’s about providing a service to them by educating and sharing resources. In exchange, when you make a product recommendation, you make an affiliate commission or profit from the sale of your own products. It really is as simple as that. The key is being consistent, and being helpful. You have to reach your audience. You have to connect with them. You have to fulfill a need or be of service to them in one way or the other. Do that and making sales becomes more easy.
Over the next few posts, we’ll go over a variety of tips and techniques that will help you improve your email marketing game. Some of it will involve plotting and planning so you know what to email about. On other days, we’ll talk about relationship building and how to make sure you give your readers what they need. Along the way, I also have some great copywriting advice for you, so you can get better at crafting subject lines and emails your readers will open and read.
