Ell manages two blog one is a lifestyle blog EllDuclos.blog and the other is all about blogging and her strategies BossGirlBloggers.

She has built a large community with BossGirl Bloggers and I interviewed her to get to know more about her and her blog.

Can you tell my readers about yourself and your blog?

My name is Ell (Lauren) and I started my first lifestyle blog back in April 2017! I always had a passion for creative writing, especially in high school. I am also the creator of Boss Girl Bloggers, a Community for like-minded women who are pursuing their entrepreneurial dreams! I now have a second blog, bossgirlbloggers as well!

How did you first get into blogging?

I started my blog in April 2017 when I felt lost. I struggled a lot with anxiety and depression. Fun fact, I am a college drop out and I used to be a full-time waitress. Struggling to pay my bills on time and really hating my job, I knew I had to make a change. I originally started my blog as a way to escape my reality but it quickly became my passion! Now it’s my full-time job and I couldn’t be happier about that. Hard work pays off.

What type of networking do you think is better to enhance your traffic to the blog?

My favorite way to grow my blog traffic is definitely Pinterest marketing. You should also focus on SEO since at the end of the day, that’ll bring you the most organic traffic of social media disappears. I try to be active on all social media platforms though. I find it’s best to have your presence everywhere!

And what is the best strategy that worked well for you to get more traffic to your blog?

Pinterest marketing definitely! It brings me anywhere from 70,000 – 100,000 blog views a month!

How do you manage time to run your blog efficiently?

It’s all about setting deadlines and being self-disciplined! I like to create a task list and set timers for each task! Using timers helps me make sure I am hitting each task without spending too much time on one thing over another.

Since you are a blogger what did you learn? Was there any failure?

I wouldn’t say I had any major failures but I have had setbacks. I think my biggest lesson would be to not put all your eggs in one basket!

What was the most challenging moment in your blogging journey so far?

The beginning is definitely challenging, especially since everything, in the beginning, fluctuates so much! Views, income, etc. Whatever you do, keep learning and don’t give up!

How do you motivate yourself to keep the blog up and running?

If it wasn’t for my bossgirlbloggers members I probably wouldn’t have all the motivation I have! You need to find your tribe, it makes a huge difference!

Tell me about your proudest achievement

So far my proudest achievement is selling 1500 copies of my Pinterest ecourse and being invited to teach a Pinterest marketing workshop at the style collective conference! I’m so excited and honored.

Do you have any advice for beginner bloggers?

My advice would be:

  1. Don’t compare yourself to other bloggers (especially seasoned bloggers)
  2. Keep learning!!! There’s so much free info out there, use it.
  3. Find your own voice!! It’s so easy to be inspired by another blogger that you try to be just like them because it works for them… but that’s them! Not YOU! Be YOU!!!
  4. Don’t give up, even if it feels like no one cares and you don’t have an audience, keep going. It takes time to grow. Don’t give up on your strategies too soon!

Where would you like to be in blogging five years from now?

I hope I am still doing what I love, teaching women to be their own boss!! Hopefully thriving!!!
