2. Choose your domain name

You decided which plan you want and now you have to choose a domain name too. So after clicking the “Get Started” button your screen goes to this:

Now if you haven’t registered your domain name yet click on the Register a New Domain, but if you only transfer your blog to Siteground then click on I already have a Domain.

For those who have got no idea yet how to name their blog, here you can read about it more where I explain how to choose your best blog name.

Now if you have your name what you want for your domain type in and check if it’s available after you click on the “Proceed” button, if not you will see this:

While you not only have to choose for .com they suggest some domains for you. But here comes the thing, if you want a domain on Siteground you will get it for $15.95/year, but I recommend another option for you. Go and get your domain for less on Namecheap where there are domains at $8.88/year. Start your domain search here. If you don’t want to it’s fine just go further with your process.

3. Review and Complete

This is the final step to get your hosting plan. Just fill out the form with your details, you will see this: (Of course, every location has a different Data Center and other prices this is just my example picture like above I have this also in Euros)

If you register your domain with them there is two option to choose from:

  1. Domain Privacy for $12/year (only use this if you want to protect your personal information)
  2. Site Scanner for $19.80/year (this is useful if you want up to date information about your website if it’s hacked or injected with malicious code)

I recommend them both, but mostly the Site Scanner!

Now if you have all that you wanted, just check the Terms and Privacy Policy but before that read it. And check to get the SIteground newsletter too. Click on “Pay Now”. You will get all the information via your mail, the login to your cPanel. After you access to cPanel go check for WordPress installation and set up your blog.
